I remembered my intention to mark my halfway point of this project, oh, I don’t know, at the beginning of the week, completely clueless as to how I would do so. I promptly forgot until Friday night and put together a hasty idea Saturday morning. So much my style.
I have always loved smoke bombs in portraits, but I never got around to giving them a shot. Lucky for me, this week fell just before Independence Day, so I was able to scoop a bunch of them up cheap in case it didn’t work out! Funny how we are so much more experimental when we don’t have to spend a lot of money to do it.
It was about ten thousand degrees outside even near dusk. I knew I’d need help if I wanted to move fast enough to not get heatstroke. To wit, Soner was a major helper here. He was a placeholder so I could frame my shot, and he tested a couple of the uglier-colored smoke bombs before then becoming the head pyrotechnician of the operation.
Teamwork makes the dream work! Happy Week 26! See, I can commit to something!
